Trojan Collision Centre
Trojan Collision is a progressive collision shop
owned by Emile and Brenda Houle. Located in
Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada, Trojan is
a member of the Collision Plus network of shops.
Collision Plus is the third largest collision
repair organization in British Columbia with
eleven locations operating across the province.
Collision Plus brings together repair facilities
which share a business philosophy of providing
excellence through dependable service and quality
workmanship and maintaining professional, high
quality automotive body and paint repair shops.
The Challenge
Prior to implementing Autoprise
Solo, Trojan
Collision Centre operated on a fully manual
system. The Houle’s
didn’t have a clear view of where the business
was at on a daily basis. Valuable business information
was not readily available until month end, limiting
the ability to make informed business decisions
on a daily basis. Additionally, the process of
moving a car through the shop was not as efficient
or consistent as it could be, and necessary customer
information was not always easy to find. Trojan
Collision required a computerized shop management
system to achieve their goals and Autoprise Solo
is the solution delivering the desired results.
Implementing Solo
“Solo has made many significant operational
changes in the way we do business,” said
Brenda Houle. “It improves our arrivals,
deliveries and scheduling and keeps customer
information
right at hand so anyone can look in the computer
and know exactly where the car is in the process.
Cars are staggered throughout the day creating
less stress for staff and customers. It also
allows us more time to focus on what’s
important and what needs to happen next. This
has allowed us to exceed our customer’s
expectations, and in turn please insurers and
grow our business.
We recently had a month that was double our
regular volume and we did it with ease. It gives
me confidence that Solo will help us to manage
our continued growth in the future.” With
Solo, Brenda has been able to accomplish more
with less, realizing efficiency and labour savings
in excess of fifty thousand per year.
Additionally, Solo’s integrated accounting
package and reports enable Emile and Brenda to
know where their business is at anytime. The
system compiles information as it is entered
resulting in access of valuable business information
available anytime in real-time. Access to this
information on a daily basis has allowed Trojan
Collision to operate in a more efficient and
proactive manner.
Happier and More Productive Employees
“Since implementing Solo, there is less
stress in the office. Processes are more organized
so
there is a calmer approach to dealing with problems,” said
Brenda. “Employees are more proactive on
the phone because they always have all of the
necessary information right in the computer in
front of them. All of this has created a better
working environment and happier employees. “Happy
employees mean happier customers,” commented
Brenda.
With access to real-time information, Brenda
now sets weekly targets and involves all of the
employees, working together as a team to reach
these goals. “There has been enthusiastic
response among employees and it makes everyone
feel like they are an important part of the process.
Our staff have become our best supporters by
referring their friends and family,” commented
Brenda.
Future Plans
In the future Brenda plans to further streamline
operations and grow Trojan Collision Centre
to the next level. She intends to do this by
further utilizing the many reports that Autoprise
Solo provides to better understand the business
and determine where improvements can be made.
